Hello,
Do you have any ideas on bringing the reading and writing together?
I have 42 minutes to teach reading and writing. My district has a essential
skills document. I can teach many of the reading skills that need to be
mastered with picture books, this way I hope to make way for literature
circles as the year progresses.
Do you have any ideas for connecting the two?
All I could come up with is using the picture book examples as mentor text,
have kids write paired examples, try some at home, then apply it to writing
a paragraph.
Thanks in advance for any help that you can give.
