Like Heather, most of my students who would flip me off would not apologize for
it. They would not be embarrassed, and their classmates would not be
horrified. I'm impressed with you, your student, and your school.
I have more swearing in my room this year than ever before. Students seem not
to even realize that swearing at another student is wrong. So far no one has
sworn at me this year.
