Hi Meg,

The Teaching of Reading Institute sounds very inspiring.

How do you conduct the conferences twice a week per student and how long per
student? What would be an example of questions you would use to conference?

Also, for seventh grade, how many pages per 30 minutes should an average,
independent reader be reading? My initial reading assessment has 35% of my
students below grade level in their reading. I have 150 students.

Just wondering how I could conference with them twice weekly. I do agree
that the value of face-to-face discussion is
mighty powerful if organized in a workable way. How do you do it?

Lucinda
