I received a post card advertisement last week from BlueNose Edutainment,
sponsored by McDougal Littell with this website:
www.BlueNoseEd.com
and checked it out. This is a contest that calls for your students to submit
their own lyrics, song ideas, or itnerpretaions to win some pretty good prizes.
The site provides popular songs and standard-based lesson plans from McDougal
Littell. While my cursory examination didn't make the site look as engaging
for most of my students (appealed more to the Hannah Montana and clean-cut
mainstream pop than to hip-hop), I'm still going to ask my students to take a
look. Deadine for entries is May 15, 2008 with winners announced July 1.
