I am curious as to other's opinions on assessments. I want to administer an assessment to help determine what levels of vocabulary I should focus on (when we aren't into our Lit Circle books where I can pull vocabulary they are reading). I already have Lexile levels (reading comprehension that is pretty strongly vocabulary based, but a pain to try and get into the computer lab to administer) and FCAT (our state test) to refer to.
I was thinking that the Botel (sp?) would be a quick, down-n-dirty addition to give me a basic level AND could maybe be used as a pre-test & post-test? Any thoughts? What would you use for a quarterly pre-test/post-test? :o) Pam/6th gr./FL An education isn't how much you have committed to memory, or even how much you know. It's being able to differentiate between what you do know and what you don't.
