1. You installed the installer, not the program. I.E., the .dmg file was the installer-installer.
2. Double click on the installer, and all will be well.
3. By some chance you did happen to install the program in some strange place, command-f will bring up a find box which will enable you to find it. (Command is the key with the little apple on it.)
4. After installation, perform the ritual of the permissions fixing, via the disc utility, which is located at:
/Applications/Utilities/disc utility
and all will be even more well.
