Hi,
Check your "Menu Extras". Some "Menu Extras" are SystemUIServer plugins. The naked SystemUIServer don't want to connect to any external server. Never completely block the SystemUIServer. This can freeze the airport menue item. Only deny specific connections. (choose "Same Server")
