I'm using RTSP, I did not use sdp file, but through RSTP DESCIBE. If the PPS is a little bit different from SDP in RTSP, is it a problem? I really could not find other issue. When I open VLC, I only input rtsp://169.254.1.5, nothing else. Is this a problem? I'm reading the source code for VLC, seems they need a track id.

The problem is VLC always gives the message: "live555 no data received with 10s" than rtsp tear down . I'm pretty sure the rtp stream is there and rtp port number is right. Why VLC cannot receive the stream and decode it as rtp/h264? In order for VLC to be able to play the stream, VLC needs a SDP description, so that it will know (i) that the stream is H.264, and (ii) which RTP payload format code it is using. Are you giving VLC a SDP description - either directly (as a file), or indirectly, using RTSP? -- Ross Finlayson Live Networks, Inc. http://www.live555.com/
