Assuming this is an air cooled unit, the condenser coils and fins may need
cleaning. Otherwise, you may be low on Freon. What brand fridge is it? Do
you know if it is R-22 or R-134 Freon?

We've noticed that the fridge runs about 95% of the time, and don't see why.

  Gene,
Given your boats age I suggest that you take stock of the refrig.'s
ventilation or more than likely the LACK THEREOF.
A will assume that there is one 5x9 inch vent on the backside to the outside
wall !! :-)

Add 3 more of at least the same size and a 12 muffin exhaust fan. You have
got to remove the ambient heat from the coils.

I have a 12v and a120v exhaust fan AND a 12v fan that blows across the coils.
Of course the 120v fan only runs when the gen set is on or on shrorepower.

  Just my experience.
