I have just yesterday discovered a bad cell in my Trojan L-16 bank so I will have to replace them. I believe I got them new in 2001.
I normally let them (four 6-volt batteries) get down to around 300 A/H before I start up the genset. And that's by the AH meter that is routinely optimistic. A few days ago the meter said I was less than 100 AH down, but the hydrometer was half-way up the red, very discharged. They get heavily cycled and I would use no other batteries.
