I agree with Steve. Most of us are just to busy to sit around and chat on
line. Personally, I like to take the time to think about what I want to say
that writing provides.

But of course, one could try a chat and see how many show up. You never know
until you try...

Vern, I may be in a minority here but I suspect most folks aren't on line for a
sufficiently long enough time to "chat" so I'm not sure the benefit would
outweigh the hassle of setting it up.

Speaking for myself, my usual drill is to log on to this email (my personal as
opposed to business email) two or three times a day at most to check what
topics are in discussion and either chime in or delete and then disconnect. If
I posted a question, or replied to a question or comment, I'll find out the
answer several hours later when I check in again.

There may be some folks who have their "list" email on all day but I don't
think that's the majority.

Just my $.02

Would anyone be interested in a web based chat for the live aboard list? I am
messing around with one and will put an instance up for us if anyone thinks it
will get use.
