Ed,

I use "sand" blasting glass beads.  I bought a 50 lb bag years ago and stil
lhave about 45 lbs.  Would be happy to ship some to you somewhere.

They do no cut the feet like sand does nor do they wear out like some of
the soft grits.  The glass beads also easily sand off for refinishing.
