As a retired peace officer, I would suggest that be the last thing you do. It is just too easy for Customs etc to trip you up on that. Plus there is the hassle of dealing with Transport Canada to obtain an Ontario registration number for the boat.
If it were me, I would have the buyer meet me on the US side, complete the transaction, ie exchange money and a bill of sale and let him worry about getting it into Canada.
