We had a high voltage problem with our alternator. It's on a Yanmar 3JH2E, so we are changing out alternators.
We previously had an Hitachi LR 180-03 and have bought a new model LR 180-03C. Literature says they are the same and everything looks the same except the LR 180-03C has a little yellow wire coming out of the side of the case, with a plastic covered female bayonet plug on the end. We were in the course of installing the new alternator directly with just the old wiring connections, but then wondered about the yellow wire which was not on our original. Anyone have any knowledge on this or suggestions? Sue and I will appreciate any advice.
