I watched a safety movie once that was made on the SS Manhattan, the US's only supertanker, on its Northwest Passage trip.
One of the safety experts walked up to a tank top, flipped open the inspection hatch on a tank full of gasoline and lit the plume of vapor with his Zippo. Very impressive. I can only imagine the feeling the first time one did this. On The Most Dangerous Catch I watched a man remove a fishing boat propeller easily using explosives to kick it off the taper.
