Well after about 6 years in this ashtray I call my boat (I smoke a lot) I started having trouble trying to do my weekly hard drive clone last week. So I ordered 3 new hard drives and installed new hard drive racks (the ones at this link
http://tinyurl.com/caqyp3 ) and proceeded to clone from my best old hdd to the new ones. Unfortunately the one I chose to be my new 'primary' drive only worked long enough to fool me. Today when I woke up I fired up the computer and ran the TV program while I got dressed etc. When I decided to check my email the computer would not rtespond to anything but the reset button, but it would not boot. At all, No matter which of the new disks I put into the computer! It turned out I had a bad, brand new Western Digital 160 Gbyte ATA100 hard drive! In all my years of exposer to computers (since 1976) I have never seen a bas Western Digital disk. At least not a new bad disk! About 4 hours ago I finally got the computer running again and strapped back on it's shelf with 2 new HDD Racks, 2 new disk drawers, and 2 brand new 160 Gbyte Western Digital disk drives. Now the RMA and all that crud...
