Well after about 6 years in this ashtray I call my boat (I smoke a lot) I
started having trouble trying to do my weekly hard drive clone last week. So
I ordered 3 new hard drives and installed new hard drive racks (the ones at
this link

http://tinyurl.com/caqyp3 ) and proceeded to clone from my best old hdd to
the new ones.

Unfortunately the one I chose to be my new 'primary' drive only worked long
enough to fool me. Today when I woke up I fired up the computer and ran the
TV program while I got dressed etc.

When I decided to check my email the computer would not rtespond to
anything but the reset button, but it would not boot. At all, No matter
which of the new disks I put into the computer!

It turned out I had a bad, brand new Western Digital 160 Gbyte ATA100 hard
drive!

In all my years of exposer to computers (since 1976) I have never seen a
bas Western Digital disk. At least not a new bad disk!

About 4 hours ago I finally got the computer running again and strapped
back on it's shelf with 2 new HDD Racks, 2 new disk drawers, and 2 brand new
160 Gbyte Western Digital disk drives.

Now the RMA and all that crud...
