Didn't mean to start a war here. Just expressing that because of the way inflatable boats fall apart that a Port-a-bote is a good alternative. Sam's hard bottom dink seems to be holding up well. Just because it's the best solution for me doesn't mean it's the best solution for everyone.

I'm in complete agreement with that; there's no single dinghy that will serve everyone's needs. They all have their pros and their cons. As I see it, injecting a 'MY BOAT IS BETTER THAN YOURS!' note into a discussion does nothing positive; in fact, it makes for a chilling effect on frank discussion and polarizes it into "no, *your* boat sucks" camps.
