I believe you are correct...NOW, BUT, when oil goes up as it will, when new already available but not yet invested in technology makes it possible to transmit large amounts of power across the US as a practical matter, and when more and better conservation takes hold such as cars like the Chevy Volt, then MAYBE it will become cost effective for the average person.
