Wrong. The restaurant on-site is cheap and good. The owner and family are great and welcoming. The two goats are ornery. The myriad dogs are nice except for the mother Jack Russell Terrier who nips calves. Once lubricated in the evening, some of the locals speak in Olde English. Fairport Marina has been known to loan one of the family cars from time to time. At this time of year, the Menhaden plant is shut down. They are not thrilled by visits from boaters who anchor out unless they come in to eat and drink. Even then, they prefer that their visitors take a slip.
Ron Rogers From: bella Fairhope marina is cheep if need to get a slip... the restaurant there is NOT with the bucks and the selection is very limited.. its just a tad but tooo gourmet for the area. Real expensive too.. Nearest grocery is 12 miles away... I spent the past week there in the rain and cold.. by the pogy plant.. be forewarned you anchor down wind of the pogy plant you are gonn regret it.. pogy plant for those who don't know the term it is a plan tthat processes menhaden for fishmeal. The stench is vile
