You were cruising in what was basically my back yard for 25 years before I
moved west.
Page 25 ?? I was unable to get past sheet 13 where you hauled out
(presumably in Parry sound)

South of Parry Sound in the bay you barely got out of town as it were , so
yeah I see what you mean by chatter.
Very different further up north. Up there if you get into trouble the coast
guard is at least 3 - 4 hours away. and that assumes they can even hear
your radio.
But make an overnight to Tobermory and its a different thing once you get
past Cabot head. For real thrills you need to make land fall coming east
fom Huron past Cape Hurd and tying to sneak south of Cove Island in a full
nor wester with swells running 8 - 12 feet. White caps everywhere and you
can't tell waves from breaking rocks. Broached that time and we nearly lost
crew over the side. Also made that land fall once in pea soup fog with
viz down to 30 feet or so. Bow look-out was indistinct from cockpit on a 37'
Alberg.
I get a kick out of these west coast guys talking about how large and
rough it gets here. Obviously they never heard about the Edmund Fizgerald.
Good cruising ground!!!!
