I would not limit that to China. The business of ANY incorporated business is maximum profit. Only the combined pressures of an effective market place, and a governing body prevents abuse of the consumer. Milk in this country was adulterated before legislation stopped the practice. Likewise patent medicines and what else I do not know. At least in China the perps are executed or jailed when their excesses hurt the economy, unlike the US where they are handsomely rewarded.
