Hi All,
LA boats underway or on the hook and unable to replenish all of their energy
usage with wind generator and/or photovoltaic panels may run the engine or a
generator to charge their batteries. One complaint I heard over the years is
after the bulk charge is over it takes a very long engine run time (at low
power) to top off or equilize the batteries.
If the engine is shutdown before the batteries are "fully charged" (ie: Held at
float voltage until the current drops to trickle charge level) the health of
the batteries deteriorate.
My question is, does anyone know of a product in the market that allows one to
shutdown the engine right after the bulk charge yet continue to top off the
batteries. (No not a perpetual motion machine :-)
Thanks
Ahmet
