Heh. Yeah. I'm not quite to that point yet - I'm still cleaning up
between jobs - but I'm getting close, primarily because the jobs are
starting to overlap. I feel like I need a project management program
just to keep track of where I am with all this stuff.

In fact, this doesn't sound like a bad idea: as I get older, I find that
I just can't juggle all the stuff in my head that I used to. Does
anyone here use any kind of method for keeping track of multiple
projects? I don't even have a reasonable/efficient way of doing this on
paper - I'm just so used to keeping a mental chart. Yikes.

I'm working on the outboard right now - it decided to start overheating
(I guess it decided to join the breakdown party that's happening
aboard.) Just got the lower unit off and found the the impeller had two
blades left out of six (oh, goodie... now to go spelunking after the
other four...) and the shaft key is worn. Oh, and the gas tank in the
dinghy suddenly started leaking gas out of the outtake fitting, which
left a nice oily mess in the dinghy bilge. Gak.

That brings the total of what I need to do before I can keep going up
to:

Repair or replace gas tank
        Teflon tape on the threads?
Replace batteries (build platform/retaining system)
Weld uprights to hull for level base
Attach battery trays to uprights and brace against bulkhead
        Make cables for new arrangement
Take batteries to store, get new ones
        Install them/strap them down
        Repeat on the port side
Redesign/rebuild the exhaust between manifold and bulkhead
Weld 16" SS extension to manifold exhaust fitting
Locate, buy, and install heavy-duty silicone hose
        Wrap all in fiberglass lagging
Get the ripped headsail repaired
Price check at local sail shops
Replace top port mizzen shroud/intermediate mizzen shroud
Go up the mast, remove the necessary bits
Go to West Marine, make up new
        Back up the mast, install
Adjust valve clearance
Do I have a spare valve cover gasket? Oh-oh...
(Possibly) order a valve cover gasket
Crude spring test: compress with ViseGrips and compare
        Adjust
Clean up soot in engine compartment :((( (RECOMMENDATIONS WELCOMED!)
Get impeller/key for outboard and install
        Get to local Yamaha dealer
Seal leaking light in hull
Remove light, scrape off old sealant
Get Permatex Ultra Black or Life Caulk, goop up, space with bamboo
                skewers
Refill rudderhead with grease

Whew. That's a seriously busy week or so, especially since I'll be
relying on the local public transportation for the longer runs (the
taxis here are rather high.)
