Anything that interrupts fuel flow after some volume/time has passed.

Plugged tank vent causing vacuum in tank to overcome fuel pump.

Debris in tanks that gets sucked to tank outlet blocking it, but not
sucked up into pump
Falls away after engine dies.

Electric fuel pump that can't quite keep up with flow, but catches up
a few seconds after engine dies.

On a gas engine with mechanical points, the condenser can fail in such
a way as to allow the engine to run for a few seconds, then die.

Failure in an automatic oil pressure loss switch. Most of them are
bypassed for a few seconds as the engine starts, then, when they
activate, the failed switch kills the engine.

Various failures in the onboard computer (if applicable. )
