I LOVED those L16s, Skip. On my old boat (a ‘81 H33 – yeah, I was one of the
“Cherubs”) I pulled the pair of G31s out and put in a pair of L16s when I
installed the Isotherm refrigeration system (along with a hi-output alt).
Remarkably, their footprint is identical to the G31. The biggest difference was
the height – about 17 inches as I recall – but more importantly the weight!
They’re ridiculously heavy! I had to rig a pulley on the boom to lower them
down into the tray which, fortunately, was just in front of the engine directly
below the companionway hatch.

But with the installation, I just about doubled my house back from about 190
amp hrs to about 380. Great batteries if you’ve got the space....

Subject: [Liveaboard] Battery Water Re: EXT : Any other lists more active?

having had a few months, recently, on line with the charger, I can tell you for
sure you'll want to check the water. I have 4xL16HC so I have gallons of
distilled water aboard. My most recent rewatering was WAAY too late for
comfort. It took about a gallon...
