Lee, you have done what you could extra oil in the cylinders is OK but 
it should be sprayed  through the carburator while it is running on 
higher RPM to lubricate the needle bearings on the crankshaft before it 
dies . Running it dry is very important. When you pull off the fuel 
connector let it run for couple of minutes and then press the needle 
valve on the engine part of the fuel connector with your thumb so all 
fuel is sucked out of the fuel lines. It will be wise to drain your tank 
fuel line as well. Every little precaution helps to have a healthy start 
next season. I hope you used marine stabilizer and not automotive. 
Automotive stabilizer is alcohol based.
