Sorry, can you be a little more specific here? What exactly are you expecting, (and why), and what is the actual result?
No problem. 90% of 256 MB is 230 MB (tmpfs is mounted with the "size=90%" option, see /init in initramfs). If just after login the tmpfs at /.tmpfs is almost empty, then almost all 230 MB will be free. That's what I expected. However, "df" immediately after login reported only 209 MB free. That's the actual result.
I already found the source of the difference and mostly fixed it, see r134 and my other message in this thread.
