Yes, those folks who write READMEs. Please download the "squashfs" package from SourceForge. It contains a well-documented "mksquashfs" command that is conceptually similar to mkisofs.

BTW, why are you building your own livecd? What we offer as "LFS-6.1 live CD" is in fact a ready-made BLFS Live CD.
