I also am trying the   lfslivecd-x86-6.1.1-3.iso  image and having the 
same hang at "Start init..."
I too am running an oldie  k6-2, 128mb ram, 2gb hd.
I would like to help if I can, but I am only 1 yr into linux and just 
started reading LFS.
I will watch the list for developements and try tests posted. (if I can 
understand them:)
