The LiveCD has a lot of stuff that was included on request and was not tested.
Support requests for such software belong to the list that deals with that
software. This includes jhalfs and other ALFS implementations. Even the README says:
For help, questions, or to report a bug, please email the alfs-discuss mailing
list: alfs-discuss AT linuxfromscratch DOT org
But I am sure that they will say "go away" because you are NOT allowed to use
ALFS and ask for support before building LFS "by hand".
The CD itself comes with almost no support, and this is a development-only list.
The only allowed support requests on this list are "the CD doesn't boot", "the
CD doesn't detect my hardware properly" and "some thing works on my regular
system but not on the CD, please fix it on the CD, here is how". Your issue is
not of this kind.
