Hi

Well I thought I'd have a go at remastering the live CD. After checking from
the SVN repository, the build exited on the man-pages package with a 404 error.
I looked through the material but could not see where the url was stated. As
I don't understand how they are extracted from the book. I found the
remastering guide so decided to follow the guide. My first concern is:

The guide is for versions 6.2.x whereas, I've downloaded a 6.3 version, does
this matter?

I've mounted my extracted root.ext2 file chroot-ed and installed the extra
packages required. Now I need to do the initramfs thing. I assumed that this
step required being undertaken within the chroot-ed environment. While
deleting the stated line in the Makefile, I noticed that it also referred to
chroot using varibles used in the SVN scripts for building from source. So I
removed these lines too. When I run make, I get a complaint that it can't find
libdevmapper. I looked on google and found a userspace tool and wondered if I
needed to install this too?

When I can complete this step, I'll test the packages I've installed but then
I'll need to change the kernel. Will this involve more than putting the new
one in place and including the appropriate /lib/modules/ version directories?
