I'm not at the machine, but my laptop has an intel controller, and r2032 booted fine. I'm pretty sure it uses ata_piix normally. FWIW, I'm using the libata PATA drivers on both my machines and it's working fine. Also, do you know why registration is disabled in trac? I'd like to comment on the ticket, but it seems that the only way for me to do it is to manually add myself on the server.
