Why rc3.d? Does it work if you start it immediately after udev, i.e., as 
S11 in rcS.d? Is it needed to suppress the language and timezone dialogs 
then?

Also, I think that you should copy lines from the brltty script instead 
of adjusting dialogrc manually.

This won't work on anything except your hardware. I will try to 
integrate Debian's unmuting script, but it is also not ideal.
