Hi everyone, Further to conversations at the recent meetup, I've had a friend install a 500GB SSD + 8GB RAM on my laptop, plus a fresh installs of Windows 10 and Ubuntu 24.04.2.
Ubuntu was running well - not to mention very fast - for a day or so, but now I am faced with a black screen full of text. (The last thing the GUI said to me was "Authentication error" in response to my attempt to re-login from sleeping.) The screen full of text is full of green OKs down the side. The last line of the text reads: OK Started gdm.service - GNOME Display Manager. I'm posting on here as I am not sure if my friend will get back to me until Wimbledon is over! And also because I don't have much to go on by way of error messages. Thanks in advance for any help you are able to offer!
