We have been successfully capturing analog video from my BT848 based TV
card using the SVN version of LiVES. This is a huge deal for me, as this
is the first time I have been able to do so using Linux. One small
issue - The default Mencoder/mplayer setting for the TV card seems to be
PAL broadcast. As I live in the US; and have tons of footage on old
analog (maqnetic tape ) media to digitize PAL broadcast is not very
useful. There doesn't seem to be a way to access the card inputs using
LiVES and mencoder. If I change the default player in lives to tvtime or
xawtv, I can change the input to NTSC via xawtv or tvtime GUI; input 1
(composite) which is what I need. Although it is a fairly good
workaround, this arrangement presents some issues; for instance if one
tries to open an audio file without switching back to mencoder the whole
works crashes.

Certainly there is a way to change the default of mencoder to NTSC input
1; I asked about this on launchpad, but didn't get an answer that
helps.

Any ideas?

@ Salsaman: Is there a place I can change the LiVES source to use NTSC
input1? if so can you walk me through it?
