i like lives ,because its open source , easy to use ,is good documented,is in active development and has the functions i need for video editing.
gabriel is very good and helpful in supporting the user.he also implements features the user ask for,like live camera input.
he has also special ideas for lives like audio analyzer plugins.
i really like the vj functions of lives.it is really easy and fun to improvise with live video, like randomly switching clips with music 
add some effects and record the improvisation to a new clip.
thanx a lot for this program and keep on the good work.

Lives is fairly lightweight, so My box doesn't slow wayyy down when running it. The GUI is simple, yet complete. Lives does all I need it to. Gabriel is always willing to give assistance and advice for the rare bug, or just to help LiVES users understand the program better.
