Are Eclipse or Kdevelop capable of detaching windows from the surrounding 
MDI window and float on the desktop on their own? 

The Gimp is doing it the way I like it, 'cause with multiple windows I 
can make use of my window manager's features. Especially keyboard 
shortcuts and moving windows between screens and virtual desktops.
