I started using lmms a little while ago. I then bought an Alesis Q49
which uses usb-midi (it has original midi but I have no midi input
available)

This may be FreeBSD specific but I found that the only way to make use
of usb-midi is through jack_umidi. So I started adding it to lmms.

I have jack midi input working so far with two issues.

1. soundfont does not receive any midi input

2. zynaddsubfx only responds to midi input on channel 1

As a clue I find that the visual feedback doesn't work in zynaddsubfx,
that is the channel light in the song editor or the instrument panel
keyboard don't show activity the way the others do.

I am parsing the midi data a byte at a time with parseData as other
inputs would use coming from a device file. All other instruments appear
to be working as expected.

Are these issues specific to my changes or are these known issues that I
should expect?

Is this something you would add to lmms or are there other plans to
support usb-midi devices?
