That's a valid concern, but the idea was, that if we could get other audio software developers interested in the project, it would mean less work for LMMS developers. Maybe a reference implementation of the instrument/interpreter could be made, and then it'd be much easier to import that to LMMS, kind of in the same way ZynAddSubFX is. I'm not entirely familiar with CSound or the others, but it seems fairly complex with a high learning curve - it has an entire programming language for sound generation, and also it kind of seems like it would be hard to integrate well with LMMS. I'd like there to be something that even people who don't know programming can use, something where you can just use a GUI to put in modules and connect them together, and make an instrument that way without writing a single line of code. Anyway, it may be that this is just a pipe dream and would take too much effort to develop. I'm well aware of that, it's just that it's kinda rare for artistic abilities & programming abilities to overlap, which is why it'd be great to have one plugin mechanism that allows artistic people - who know sound synthesis theory but not how to program it - to create their own unique instruments. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ CenturyLink Cloud: The Leader in Enterprise Cloud Services.
