Had about an hour to test the new version tonight... feel like every time
I open up something, I get a christmas present, like this new ZynAddSubFX
artwork! Also really like the artwork inside the FX stackers. Kudos.
Back on topic... Only issue I had was VSTs wouldn't load.

These projects (screenshots provided) loaded just fine, played back without
issues:

*VST plugins would not load. I tried loading the 32-bit VSTs manually and
they would give the generic failed message. Not sure how to help debug
this on Windows platform.*
I couldn't find any bugs with MIDI (keyboard/mouse), or bug with
*anything* else
for that matter, although observed some existing items:
- Why does the setup screen (i.e. home directory, etc) use the OS's
dialogs for File/Open, etc, but the rest of LMMS uses the QT dialog boxes?
- I had to rename %userprofile%\.lmmsrc.xml to get the new theme to load
since I have the stable version installed too. After this, the splash and
artwork came through.
- Since we now have several built-in instruments with their own built-in
concepts of Envelope, we should seriously consider graying-out the built-in
envelope tab for those plugins that can't use it/has no effect on the
sound. (Zyn, Sfxr, OpulenZ). This was minor previously, but now the number
of plugins has increased, it should be addressed.
- The blue window borders that decorate interior windows by default (I
assume because of QT) really stand out of place now with the new theme.
Not sure how easy this is to change, but the default blue could probably
be changed to something that matches Vesa's palette.
- My own stupidity, but the "mouse cursor" mode made me think the song
editor had crashed because you can't drag anything without highlight it
first. The two modes (mouse vs. pencil) are only slightly distinguishable
from each-other. User error, but if it frustrated me, others are likely to
get "stuck" too (combining the two modes into one would probably be ideal,
but then you'd have to switch to something like double-click for creating a
new midi pattern... which is the same shortcut that opens it... Ideas? I
digress...)
- @Vesa, the theme looked better on my television at home than it did on
my work screen, so some of the observations I made earlier may be due to
the contrast ratio of the screen.
