I'm really not convinced about these recent naming ideas. Liquid? Magma?
Magic? Memories? What do any of these have to do with making music, or
LMMS, or anything?

I don't know, I guess there are software with names that have nothing to
do with what the program does, but they usually have at least some kind
of connection or backstory as to why the name was chosen, and I'm just
not feeling these ones.

I guess it's partly because trying to shoehorn words into the LMMS
acronym just doesn't really make sense to me. I mean, there's really no
point in using an acronym, unless the acronym represents something
concrete - or alternatively, forms some kind of play on words or
backronym - like GNU: it's funny, because there's an inherent wordplay
to it - GNU is actually an animal, but the backronym makes it mean
something different.

If we go with a non-descriptive name, like these "Liquid" and "Magma"
things, then I think we should drop the idea of an acronym altogether,
and just go with a full on new name.

But if we want to maintain the LMMS acronym, then it should be
descriptive - it should make sense, it should in some way reflect what
LMMS is and does.
