Well I tend to agree that ideally it would be nice to give this a fresh new
name; however, LMMS has follower, and people who know it for what it was. I
still know tons of peiple who've never herd of Libre office, but know open
office. We don't want to cause that kind of comunity forking. To me the
point of renaming it is not to loose LMMS per se, but to loose the parts
that don't make any sense. Linux was great when it was only on Linux, but
it causes confusion now that it's on windows as well. Multimedia is by far
the worst word as it has nothing to do with multimedia. I'd reather have it
turned to LMMS Means Music Studio or Libre Music Making Studio over leaving
it what it currently is, but to me if some one wants to know why it's named
what it's named we can have that in a history part of the website. By
giving it exciting new names that fit into the old acronym the old acronym
still functions, but as people learn about the new sub name they might
start referring to it by the new name as well. For example I think both
Liquid Magma and Liquid Moment flow off the tongue, where as Linux
Multimedia Studio was just awkward which is why people started calling it
LMMS in the first place.
