The Software Center warned me 4 times that the PPA was an unauthenticated
source and never installed. Not sure if there's much we can do about this,
but this was particularly annoying (bug w/ software center on 14.04?).
Command line install worked fine of course.
$ sudo apt-get install lmms
A side note:
GIMP has managed to get their logo in the icon area of the Ubuntu package.
Is there a way we can do this too?

Also, I recommend using the 2nd screenshot from your screenshots as the
default/1st screenshot as it shows more components.
Last, I expect we should change the name to "LMMS" in this area too, if
this hasn't been done already:
