Fair enough. I'd like to offer some manual compilation instructions (at
least on the OSX wiki) for this.
My educated guess says I'll need to download, compile, link, bundle. Since
the author provides a git repo, the downloading and compiling shouldn't be
all that bad.
Would it be fair to assume once I do a make install this should be written
to the lib search path? This will be my first time manually building a
dependency.
Since we've no idea way of predicting how long these projects stay in the
repos (i.e. Ubuntu) after they've been out of maintenance, it won't hurt to
have the manual build information lying around. It also may be useful for
some of build-your-own type distros.
Jonathan, how did you fetch this on Gentoo?
