Would this be a welcome addition?

I think it would be a pretty simple thing to implement, but I'm not
certain if we want such a thing. Usually, panning is handled with effect
plugins like autopanners etc. and there's not much need for mixer
channels that are off-center in most types of music... but then, the
same argument could be made for the volume faders - that too could be
done with amplifier plugins, yet we provide the faders for convenience.

So I'm looking for opinions... would panning knobs in FX Mixer channels
be useful? It would probably make the mixer slightly larger vertically,
taking more screen space... might also have a small performance cost,
probably pretty negligible though.
