You should be able to set the VST effect directory in the settings. LMMS
will only look for VST effects in the specified directory, whereas VST
instruments can be loaded from anywhere.


That said, it might be a good idea to make it possible to load effects
in general from anywhere, the same way we can load all other material...
might be something to think about for 1.2.
