I suppose this depends on what you actually deleted.
If only the setting was deleted, then this is probably a bug. When the
folder cannot be found it should fallback to the default location. If this
is the case, removing $home/.lmmsrc.xml is a temporary workaround and a bug
should be filed.
On the other hand, if you deleted the actual theme folder, then you will
need to reinstall or recover it from the Trash Bin.
