we have has several discussion around using colors on blocks, preset aso.
This has been a favorite for some, and the exact oposite for others.
I had this thought, as i was using a BBtrack for project structure/ -What if
structure just was an overlay/

So i came up with this
<http://linux-multimedia-studio-lmms.996328.n3.nabble.com/file/n10799/paste.png>

I propl could have used more transparent colors, but that could be a user
option.
The idea is that this would be totally transparent (no pun intended..) in
respect to peoples themes and customizations. In Edit just a simple option
"Toggle shaders on off"
It would only be a tool during project building, and would be optional in
general.
If it could be shown on all relevant forms (SE AE PR BB), then it would be
even a better tool
Implementation wise, there could be drag-handles, for horisontal expantion,
or a simpler version with size-inputs in text.

For cpu-usage reason shaders should disable in play-back
*
! Shaders should never result in a cpu-hit !*

but this would structure a project, and not compromize themes, or other
live-performance customizations
