Not sure if anyone already mentioned this, but there is already a Free
Software file synchronization tool called unison [0]. I find there is
no problem with double-naming if the names is already taken by some
other project/business that has nothing to do with software at all
(e.g. if there was a rubberducky factory called unison). But when
there are fellow Free Software-developers involved who do not even
have the financial means to defend their project-name with the help of
the law, I find this highly unethical.

For a new name I'd suggest dropping the "Linux-" in the name. Though
the project began on Linux, it hasn't been true for a long time and
nowadays it is simply misleading.

An idea for starters: Maybe we could achieve some kind of
synergy-marketing effect (*buzzword* *cough*) by renaming LMMS to
"Traxxx" adapted from the Free Software DJing-tool "Mixxx" [1]. Of
course this also would involve asking the guys if they find this cool,
too.
