My vote is no, for what it's worth. A justified "bad" name is still a
"bad" name. "XBMC" had a bad name for a while, since the "X" used to stand
for "XBOX". They've since renamed to "Kodi.tv".
GAIM (for those that remember) had the competitor's name "AIM" inside their
own and has since been renamed to Pidgin (it's a pun!). I think these are
some good examples.
But not everyone gets a rename. GIMP hasn't gotten a rename
<http://www.omgubuntu.co.uk/2011/08/the-gimp-name>.
I also vote no to "shary". I don't think it rolls off of the tongue well.
It's also how an english speaking 3-year old says "scary" when he can't get
it diphthongs pronounced properly.
If we do re-name, I'd like to see it happen with a solid 2.0 release with a
new engine and a better layout manager (MDI windowing interfaces are bad UI
in my opinion).
That said, if a good name comes along, we can hold a vote, but until it
does, we'll keep lmms.io for a while long. :)
